EDGE PROTECTION
Stair Towers are an important part of site safety, allowing safe access and egress for all trades on building sites
Edge Protection
,Whether for domestic, commercial, or industrial scaffolding applications, scaffold guardrails are vital for edge protection where safety at heights is required.
Handrails are constructed in various methods using tubes and fittings and then fixed to the wall with scaffold anchors and rakers and a freestanding frame guardrail.
Other applications can require fixing scaffold to steelwork using Gravlock fittings, or by using a handrail system called Roof guard, which uses weighted stands to fix the handrail posts for the edge protection.
Roof Edge Protection barrier is designed to keep a person falling from a height. Scaffolding, guard rails and handrails are erected to create a barrier around the roof of a building to prevent an accident.
OHS Regulations states that anybody is at risk of falling 2 meters or more from a flat edge, then edge protection must be implemented. As a general, the industry height requirement for scaffolding is 4 feet above lower level , for construction the height is 6 feet above a lower level. All workers above a lower level of 10 feet must have fall protection.
